I don’t really think I need to explain why I love Party Down so much.
You notice it in the classroom, where your classmate sheds new light on Dante by translating the original Italian. You hear it on the Quads, taking in a drum concert as you practice with the Judo Club. You see it in Rockefeller Chapel, viewing an exhibit on the relationship between humans and nature after your meditation class. or you taste it in the dining hall, sampling kosher, Halal, and vegan entrees with your roommates. However you experience it, you feel it the moment you get here: this is where you belong.

I literally teared up reading about Shabbat dinners with the UChicago Hillel. I don’t know what it is, but the image of the already-beloved-and-familiar Shabbat dinner at the absolutely adored and place-where-dreams-come-true (in my mind) UChicago just makes me wish I were there. I don’t plan on specifically emphasizing Judaism when applying to wherever I apply next year (although it may be unavoidable, with my summer in Israel and possible recommendation from my synagogue’s director of higher education services (love you Gila!), but I still want it to be a significant and meaningful part of my college experience. Alright, back to studying bio.
Taking a break from studying to say…
